A skin care routine is basically a regime to improve the condition of skin. There are morning and night skin care routines. These differ in term of the steps and the products involved.  We are going to focus on a basic daily routine that contains four simple steps. 

1.       Cleanse
First, we are going to cleanse our skin. For this you need a cleanser that is suitable for your skin-type. To make the cleanser’s job a bit easier, you can use warm water to open up the pores. After applying the product on your face, you can either wipe it off or rinse with water. Cleansing removes the dirt on the skin and reduces the chances of acne breakouts. It also stimulates blood circulation and gives your skin a pinkish colour.

2.       Exfoliate
This step should not be done daily as over-exfoliation can irritate the skin. Apply the product in a circular motion for 20 – 30 seconds and then rinse it with lukewarm water or washcloth. Exfoliation removes dead skin cells and makes your skin soft. Again, chose the product according to your skin type. 

3.       Moisturize
Now that the dirt and dead skin cells have been removed and the skin is clean, we need to moisturise it. A moisturizer keeps your skin moisturized, smooth and healthy. Beware of over-moisturizing your skin as it can clog pores. Once again there are moisturizers for every skin type. An essential factor that one should consider when buying a moisturizer is the UV protection. No matter what your skin type is, you should try to buy one with a sun protection factor (SPF). This way you will not only moisturize your skin, but also protect it from the damaging UV rays.
